In today’s issue, we discuss:

  • Why courage isn’t the absence of fear.

  • What firewalking can teach us about everyday transformation.

  • How fear often points toward our greatest opportunities for growth.

  • A challenge to take one courageous step this week.

People often ask if firewalking is about being fearless. It isn’t.

In fact, most people who step onto the coals feel fear. Their heart races. Their mind fills with questions.

What if I get burned?

What if I can’t do this?

Sound familiar?

The truth is, transformation rarely begins when we’re comfortable. It begins the moment we choose to move anyway.

That lesson has echoed throughout my own life.

Leaving home at seventeen to join the Navy.

Starting over after an unimaginable loss.

Returning to the mountains of North Carolina after nearly thirty years away.

Finding purpose in places I never expected.

None of those moments felt easy. None came with certainty. But every one of them required the same thing:

The willingness to take the first step.

The fire simply makes that lesson visible.

One of my favorite quotes comes from mythologist Joseph Campbell:

“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”

I love this quote because it reminds me that our greatest opportunities for growth are often hidden behind the very fears we’ve spent the most time avoiding.

Fear has a way of convincing us that staying where we are is safer than stepping into the unknown. But staying comfortable doesn’t transform us.

Stepping forward does.

Whether your “fire” is having a difficult conversation, pursuing a dream you’ve postponed, setting healthy boundaries, asking for help, or believing you’re worthy of something more, the process is the same.

The first step is always the hardest.

But it’s also the one that changes everything.

Transformation doesn’t happen because fear disappears.

It happens because we decide that what waits on the other side of fear is worth discovering.

This Week's Challenge

Take five quiet minutes each day and ask yourself:

"What is one thing I noticed about myself today?"

Write it down without judgment.

You may be surprised by what begins to emerge.

Here's to seeing ourselves a little more clearly and continuing the journey of transformation together.

With gratitude,

Quote of The Week:
"The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek."
—Joseph Campbell (Mythologist)

Have you ever noticed that voice that reverberates in your head the minute you consider a new experience or an action to make your dreams a reality? The one that seems to whisper “You’re not ready” or shouts “What if you fail?”

That is the Tiger that I refer to is fear and self-doubt dressed up as protection, convincing us to stay safe instead of stepping forward and growing. The Tiger is loud, convincing and relentless, but here’s the truth: it only has the power we give it.

Every time you step forward in spite of that roar, you weaken its grip and strengthen your own. That is what Tiger Letters are all about, sharing knowledge, experience, fears and inner strength to make your dreams a reality.

So, the next time your Tiger ROARS, smile at it, step forward reclaiming your power and break through the fear barrier into your growth zone.

Before you go, here is ONE way you can work with me.

Until next time!
