In today’s issue, we discuss:

  • My Story – The journey that brought me to Tiger Tamer's.

  • A Full-Circle Moment – Reconnecting with Dennis after years apart.

  • Transformation – How loss and returning home changed my life.

  • Reflection – A question to consider this week.

  • Next Week – Continuing our journey through transformation.

I grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina, surrounded by rolling hills, winding roads, and a strong sense of community. Like many young people, I couldn’t wait to see what existed beyond the horizon. At 17 years old, I left home and joined the United States Navy, setting out on an adventure that would shape the next chapter of my life.

At 18, I reported aboard my first ship, the USS Abraham Lincoln, where I met my first supervisor, Dennis Narlock. At the time, neither of us could have imagined how our paths would continue to cross throughout the years.

During my time in the Navy, I gained invaluable experience, traveled, and grew in ways I never expected. Years later, our paths crossed again aboard my final ship, the USS Ronald Reagan, where Dennis had become an officer. Life eventually carried us in different directions, and it was nearly a decade before we would reconnect again.

Then came one of the most difficult chapters of my life: the devastating loss of Kris, the man I loved and planned to build a future with.

Just one month later, Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina, forever changing the landscape of the place I once called home. While I was grieving the loss of someone I loved deeply, my hometown and the surrounding mountain communities were grieving, too.

Something about that moment called me home.

I returned to Western North Carolina not only to rebuild my own life, but to be part of a community learning how to heal together. Looking back, I believe there was something profoundly transformative about returning to a place that was recovering alongside me. The mountains that had shaped my childhood became the backdrop for my own healing journey.

What I didn’t expect was that one of the people waiting for me there would be Dennis.

Patricia and Dennis, 2026

Our reunion felt less like coincidence and more like one of those moments that only makes sense when you look backward. Through that reconnection, I was introduced to Tiger Tamer’s and the work of helping people discover their own strength, courage, and capacity for transformation. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend Dennis’s first FIT event—Fire Instructor Training—which was an incredible experience and a powerful reminder of how far both of our journeys have come.

One of the lessons I’ve learned is that transformation rarely happens in a single moment. It happens through countless experiences, choices, setbacks, and unexpected encounters that slowly shape who we become. Sometimes the people who influence us most enter our lives for a reason. Sometimes they stay for a season. And sometimes, after years apart, they return exactly when we need them most.

Tiger Tamer’s F.I.T. 2026

As we begin this month’s theme of Transformation, I invite you to reflect on your own story. What experiences have shaped you? What challenges have changed you? Who has appeared along your journey at exactly the right moment?

Because every transformation begins with a story.

I’m grateful to be part of this community, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you throughout the month.

With gratitude,
Patricia

P.S. If this issue resonated with you, forward this to someone who you think may be interested in their own road to transformation.

Quote of The Week:

"Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens."
— Carl Jung (Swiss Psychiatrist, Psychologist, and Psychotherapist)

Have you ever noticed that voice that reverberates in your head the minute you consider a new experience or an action to make your dreams a reality? The one that seems to whisper “You’re not ready” or shouts “What if you fail?”

That is the Tiger that I refer to is fear and self-doubt dressed up as protection, convincing us to stay safe instead of stepping forward and growing. The Tiger is loud, convincing and relentless, but here’s the truth: it only has the power we give it.

Every time you step forward in spite of that roar, you weaken its grip and strengthen your own. That is what Tiger Letters are all about, sharing knowledge, experience, fears and inner strength to make your dreams a reality.

So, the next time your Tiger ROARS, smile at it, step forward reclaiming your power and break through the fear barrier into your growth zone.

Before you go, here is ONE way you can work with me.

Until next time!
The Tiger Is Inside You.
